Chalakudy, [19/03/2025] – In anticipation of the 2025 Forest Day, the Nayarangadi Vana Samrakshana Samithi (VSS), under the Chalakudy Forest Division, collaborated with the NSS Unit and Bhoomithrasena Club of Panampilly Government College to host a vibrant social painting campaign. The event centered around this year’s global theme, “Forests and Food,” aiming to raise awareness about the critical connection between healthy forests and sustainable food systems.

The campaign saw enthusiastic participation from college students and local community members, who expressed their interpretations of the theme through various artistic mediums. The paintings served as a visual dialogue, highlighting the importance of forest conservation in ensuring food security and biodiversity.

The event fostered discussions on sustainable forestry practices, the impact of deforestation on food production, and the importance of preserving local ecosystems. Participants also explored how forests contribute to food sources, from providing wild edibles to supporting agricultural productivity.

The campaign served as a powerful reminder of the interconnectedness of forests and food, inspiring participants to become advocates for sustainable living.
